Description
Red deer in late July, the adults showing their red brown summer coats and the calves in the flecked coats, gradually to be replaced by late autumn with a thicker, uniform grey brown winter coat that will help them withstand the harshest weather. The stags antlers are still growing, covered in velvet until the end of August, early September when the velvet will peel off and the antlers will be ready for the autumn rut.
