Description
The Lairig Ghru in the Cairngorm Mountains.
The Lairig Ghru was used as a drovers route through the Cairngorm Mountains until the late 19th century, cattle being taken through the pass from Strathspey to Deeside and on southwards. Now a popular mountain walk from Aviemore to Braemar, the pass reaches an altitude of over 800 metres and can be a tough challenge in adverse weather. The mountain on the left is Lurchers Crag, with Ben Macdui in the middle and Sron na Lairig on the right.
